A long N Scale freight train with Henry from Thomas and Friends pulling it
So Mattel (Fisher Price) has come out with the new Thomas & Friends Wood – a replacement of the very popular Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway. The new designs have far fewer details than the old Wooden Railway models. The fans have been very disappointed. Not sure of the reasons for the changes, but it seems this will only further contribute to the demise of Mattel & Thomas Toys.
Why the change? The wooden railway line has been so popular for 25+ years. The lack of paint is very disappointing. Is the paint missing for a savings of cost? safety concern? Who know? The only good things is they did not change the magnets to the cheap plastic couplers and the faces on the characters seem good. Other than that, there is been great outrage from the fans in the short time my video has been posted.
Where will Mattel go from here?
